07A Ghost Caret Replaying a Past Run
The press time of each character in a past run is kept as a list, and the character position that fits the elapsed time is looked up and drawn as a faint caret, with the gap in characters ahead of or behind it shown as a bar, while the board on the right uses a straight caret at the average pace and hides the hard stretches. The past run finishes its 72 characters at 13.65 seconds and the current run at 12.95; the caret trails by up to 7 characters for the first 7 seconds or so, then catches up where the ghost stalls and leads by up to 5.
