01A Ramp That Picks Glyphs From a Density Line by Cell Brightness

The scene is split into grid cells, the mean brightness of the pixels in each cell is taken, and the glyph at the matching index is picked from a line ordered from sparse to dense characters. The board on the right cuts the line to two glyphs so the mid tones vanish as the contrast.
